If you have it and the time, would you mind sending me the note handout you gave for the master class during the Modern Drummer Festival 2011? The DVD only contains a very small portion of the written exercises you discussed and I'm very interested in exploring those concepts more. I'm a big fan. Thanks for your work. Nic

DEAR JOHN, I watched and listened to the DVD of you, "The Master Drummer". And I selected years ago several exercices from your book "The Art Of Bop Drumming". When you played examples for short solos, I recognized at once, that you studied ( among many others ) Max Roach, with the odd-movements on Toms and Snare. For me he is an architect, from whom every musician can learn. The Album MAX is one of my favourites, with very clear drumming, in accompany and in solos. Your Stuff is like that, clear and not presenting a cerain style, so every drummer can use the material, and make his own thing out of it. I have featured you twice on my HP, under the topic books cd dvd. www.matthiasrumpf.jimdo.com BEST ) Matthias- Deutschland

I was wondering what you recommend for a practice schedule for your first year students at the Manhattan School.

hipgig setup with the Minzer band live at MCG. Do you use the bass drum that normally comes with the kit? if so, what head combo do you use? I have this kit and have been struggling getting the drum sounding good. Thanks in advance for the help
