Hi John, I hope Im not duping this message I forgot the ver. code, anyway, again I am so thankful for your book the art of bop. It has been a great help in getting back to playing. You should be proud because you've covered every base on the book. I have a question, when practicing the comping exercises with snare and bass, when I get around 180ish on the metro, it gets difficult for me to make everything fit. i've heard you play these figures at twice the tempo and it seems effortless. Is there any advise you can give for faster tempos, or will it come naturally if I continue to shed these exercises everyday ? Also, do you give private instruction if I wanted to come your way for a few lessons ? Thanks Mike

Loved your clinic in Houston...so sorry I did not get to talk to you after the clinic. My husband and I will miss you in New York by one week. We will check your itinerary again. We'd love to see you. Thanks for giving back (with your clinics) to everyone who has a passion for playing the drums. Bobbie

Hello John. First, I want to mention that i'm really enjoying your bool "The Art of Bebop Drumming". It helps me a lot, thank you. I have a question about how to tune my snare. I'm trying to tune my snare to a satisfing sound, suitable for jazz, and i can't get it to sound how i want. I have an all maple snare 14X5.5 snare drum, with a coted ambassador batter head and an evans clear hazy 300 snare side head on it. When i listened to the recordings of "The Art of..." i really like the way your snare sounded. I would be very thankful if you could give some advise on how to tune my snare's heads, and tentioning my snares, to make it sound similar to your's. thank you so much for you help, Boaz.
