Hello Sir, My name is Rohit. I am from India. I have a problem. I'm finding it really hard to play fast jazz. I'm totally blank about what to play on the snare and bass drum while I am dancing on the ride. Could you please give me some advice?

Hi John, My name is Tommy Ruskin. I met you several years ago in Topeka, KS when you did a clinic there. Also, I know you played on Mike Metheny's first CD. And I played on his second. My question is about Zildjians new swish knocker cymbal that you helped them develop. What do you think of it ? It seems that 20 rivets is kind of deadning, and would keep the cymbal from ringing long enough. For the last 35 years, I've been playing a 20" swish that Len Demuzio picked out for me . I really like it. But, I'm thinking about ordering the new swish knocker cymbal, and would like your opinion about it. Any help would be appreciated . Also, what is your opinion about the A custom 22" swish? Thanks for your help. Tommy Ruskin

Dear John ! I wonder ,I practice from your book, beyond bop....when I should vary my cymbal rhytms, should they be like variations of the traditional cymbal rhytm? Like page 79 in De johnettes book "art of modern jazz drumming"? Thanx for great books !!
