Hi John I have all your wonderful books and DVDs if you include Steve Smiths. I also bought thr Modetn Drummer 2011 DVD purely for your Master Class. Master Class is excellent but am somewhat disappointed that these are only 2 movement exercises listed!

Hey John...you have obviously transcribed so many of the great drummers. Years ago I used a walkman to get ideas down and I know there are more updated ways of doing this, any suggestions? Thankyou for your time, Jeff

Q: I've started rehearsing with a big band and while I'm finding it a lot of fun and a good challenge, I've been having a hard time keeping the time. The director counts it off and I feel like it immediately wants to slow down. The horns seem to play way behind the beat much of the time and it just feels uncomfortable no matter what I do. if I play with the bassist, it feels like the train is about to derail, it feels like he is following the horns/singer. Any suggestions?
